Rising Stars

Lake Travis Music Theatre's Rising Stars program teaches and empowers young people through learning and performing. Kids build confidence and skills they can access for the rest of their lives. This year ALL students will be participating in Lion King Jr.

During the first month of classes (Sept.) students will be evaluated as they rotate through acting, dance, and vocal classes.   There will be no evaluations PRIOR to classes starting on Sept. 3rd.  Classes will occur on Wednesday from 5-7:30pm.  Rehearsal location TBD.

The 2025-2026 Season Registration is NOW CLOSED.

Register below for participation in the Lion King for Children 6 to 18.

Requirements

REGISTRATION

  • Fill out a separate form for each child.

TUITION $500

  • Can be paid up front or by monthly installments. The first installment or full payment is due with registration. Tuition will be $500 or $62.50/ installment. (Installments are based off of the flat amount of $500 and are split equally for each month no matter how many rehearsals take place in a month.)

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

  • We could not produce this show without your help! Parents are required to volunteer for 10 hours for the first child, and 15 hours if multiple children. There will be a sign-up form for volunteer hours, available in September.

  • Too busy to help? There are a variety of volunteer opportunities ranging from occasional rehearsal helpers to vital backstage crew, but you can opt out of this requirement for an additional $100 payment at the time of volunteer sign-ups.

AUDITIONS

  • All students will be evaluated for cast placement after classes begin. Casting will be finalized by the end of September. All students who register, will be given a role. Some roles may be double cast, as determined by the director.

REHEARSALS

  • Rehearsals take place on Wednesday afternoons (after school hours) in Lago Vista. The first rehearsal is the Wednesday following Labor Day.

  • Actors should wear movable attire that they can easily dance and jump in, and bring a snack and a bottle of water. Please no sticky or open beverages. More information and our Code of Conduct will be given at the first rehearsal.

SHOW TIME!

  • Tech week (required for participation) will be 1 week before the show (times TBA). Tech week is crucial to our production to work out all elements of the stage and get comfortable performing for an audience.

  • Costumes and props are generally covered by LTMT, and will be organized by a prop committee. Actors provide their own base costume (top and bottoms) and their dance shoes. Specific details will be given by the directing team.
