We are currently embarking on a building campaign to secure a dedicated space for our nonprofit. While our full-scale productions will continue to be held at the local high school’s performing arts center, we urgently need our own workshop for building and painting sets. Currently, our costumes, props, and building materials are scattered across four storage units located up to 30 miles away, creating significant logistical challenges and financial strain. Additionally, our students and community members are eager for more training opportunities in dance, vocal performance, acting, music lessons, fashion (sewing & costuming) and technical training (sound engineering). Establishing our own facility will not only streamline our operations but also enhance our ability to serve and develop the talents of our community.

Lake Travis Music Theatre has been “Bringing Broadway to the Northshore” of Lake Travis in the small town of Lago Vista, TX since 2011. As a nonprofit 501(3)c, we began at our local community center on a small stage with our family and friends seated in folding chairs on the floor and have grown into a professional-quality theatre with unparalleled talent, artistic sets, choreography that wows audiences, gorgeous costuming, professional flying, Hollywood-level makeup and more.

The pride of our organization is our children’s program, Rising Stars, which debuted in 2014 at the elementary school cafeteria stage. Miss Barbara (Director and founder) teaches kids to trust themselves, building confidence and skills both. Rising Stars is a safe haven for many of our students–a place where they can be themselves or escape into the life of a character. Everyone is welcome and we offer scholarships to those with financial limitations. Graduates from our Rising Stars program have gone on to attend theatre programs at Universities across the country.

We are actively seeking to raise the down payment toward the acquisition of land and a building. Currently, there are no available spaces in our small Texas town for arts groups to rehearse or hold events. Our proposed arts center will fill this gap, serving as a vital resource for local arts groups seeking space for classes, events, and small-scale performances (up to 200 attendees). We envision this center as the hub of the performing arts community in Lago Vista, Texas—a welcoming environment where individuals of all ages and abilities can enhance their skills.
